The program focuses on providing mentorship, educational support, and recreational activities to help youth build confidence, develop essential life skills, and achieve their full potential. The program caters to youth, including those leaving foster care, those at risk of homelessness, and low-income families.

                                          Education

Education is a critical pillar of the Youth Reach program, designed to provide youth with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in their personal and professional lives. We offer a combination of formal educational support and life skills training to ensure that participants are equipped for long-term success. This includes:
  • Academic Support: Assistance in completing high school or obtaining a GED.
  • Job Skills Training: Vocational education, computer literacy, financial literacy, and other life skills workshops that focus on practical skills for the workplace.
  • Mentorship and Career Guidance: Participants receive one-on-one mentorship to help them set and achieve educational goals and navigate pathways to higher education or trade schools.
For at-risk youth and those aging out of foster care, education often takes a backseat to survival. Youth Reach aims to fill this gap, ensuring that education becomes a tool for empowerment and a stepping stone toward a brighter future.

Housing

Stable housing is essential for any young person to thrive, and Youth Reach offers a variety of housing solutions to meet the diverse needs of homeless, low-income, and at-risk youth. Our program provides:
  • Transitional Housing: A bridge between homelessness and permanent housing, offering stability and a safe, supportive environment where youth can focus on rebuilding their lives.
  • Permanent Supportive Housing: For those ready to take the next step, we provide long-term housing options that come with ongoing support to help youth maintain independence.
  • Maternity Group Homes (Swaddle Program): Tailored to the needs of young mothers, Swaddle provides safe housing and support for pregnant and parenting youth, ensuring they have the resources needed to raise their children in a secure environment.
Housing insecurity is a significant challenge for youth, particularly those aging out of foster care or fleeing unstable home environments. Youth Reach addresses this by offering safe, stable, and supportive housing solutions that allow youth to focus on their education, employment, and personal development.

Employment:

Employment is the cornerstone of independence, and Youth Reach focuses on providing participants with the skills, opportunities, and connections they need to secure and maintain meaningful work. Our program offers:
  • Job Placement Services: We work with local employers and partner organizations to connect youth with internships, apprenticeships, and job opportunities.
  • On-Site Employment: Some youth have the opportunity to gain work experience within the program itself, contributing to the community while developing practical skills.
  • Career Development Workshops: We offer workshops on resume building, interview skills, workplace etiquette, and networking, all tailored to the unique needs of youth transitioning from homelessness or foster care.
Unemployment and underemployment are key drivers of homelessness and poverty among at-risk youth. By focusing on employment, Youth Reach helps participants achieve financial independence and long-term stability.

Homelessness

Youth homelessness is a complex issue, often tied to factors such as family instability, poverty, trauma, and the challenges of aging out of the foster care system. Many youth face housing insecurity, living in unstable or unsafe environments. Youth Reach addresses these challenges through a holistic approach, which includes:
  • Street Outreach: Our team actively engages homeless youth in the community, providing meals, hygiene kits, and information about available services.
  • Crisis Intervention: We offer immediate support to help youth escape dangerous situations, whether through emergency shelter, case management, or connections to other services.
  • Long-Term Support: Youth Reach not only focuses on getting youth off the streets but also on helping them build a path to long-term stability, through housing, education, and employment services.
Youth homelessness has lasting effects, and without intervention, many young people face a cycle of poverty and instability. Youth Reach offers the resources and support needed to break this cycle, empowering youth to reclaim control of their lives and futures.
